What makes DBA the alternative to ERP?

DBA and ERP systems both provide all the core functions needed to run your business. DBA differs significantly from ERP in seven key aspects:

Designed for Self-Implementation
DBA is designed for self-implementation, which saves you money whether you do it yourself or get outside help. ERP systems require outside consultants for implementation that are often more costly than the software itself.

Simplified Accounting Setup
DBA includes a standard chart of accounts that is optimized for a manufacturing company, with cross-reference to your old chart of accounts. All GL posting is controlled by a single screen so that your non-accounting people are never exposed to accounting issues. This makes it much easier to set up part numbers, customers, and suppliers than with an ERP system.

"Common Sense" MRP
MRP within ERP systems can be fantastically complicated. In DBA, only five settings are needed to drive the MRP system, which generates all your jobs and purchase orders.

Custom Manufacturing
ERP systems are too rigid and rules-based for many custom manufacturing requirements. In DBA you can create custom jobs using our custom job output generator with the ability to copy previous job details and phantom assemblies.

Low Cost Package Price
ERP companies do not openly publish their prices and furnish them only via proposals. DBA is sold for a low-cost, single package price that is openly published on its website.

Self-Exploration
With a free single-user evaluation system and 180-day return option, DBA gives you the tools to explore the software on your own. ERP systems subject you to a "high touch" pre-sale process that includes presentations, proposals, and contracts.

Low Cost Support & Maintenance
DBA provide support and maintenance on a low cost, flat fee basis. ERP systems offer a variety of contracts, fees, and update options that result in a considerably higher ongoing cost of ownership.
