What makes DBA different from ERP systems?

DBA, like an ERP software system, can run your entire business. But DBA differs from ERP software systems in four fundamental ways.

  • ERP systems are complex and require substantial setup and numbers of rules and steps to function properly. DBA is relatively simple and designed to keep rules and steps to a minimum.
  • ERP systems require substantial investment in software and implementation services. The DBA package price is a small fraction of the cost and can be implemented without requiring outside help.
  • ERP systems are difficult to implement. With DBA, implementation is easier by virtue of the system's relative simplicity and its unique Manufacturing Ledger, which enables manufacturing to be implemented first and accounting later rather than both at once.
  • ERP systems are of an "all or nothing" nature where they only offer value if they run the entire enterprise. While DBA is most commonly used to run an entire business, it also offers value as a stand-alone manufacturing system or as a departmental solution.
