A remanufactured product is a used version that has been refurbished for resale as a remanufactured item. Rebuilt engines, for example, are remanufactured products. A remanufactured bill of material consists of the used version ("core") as well as the parts needed for refurbishment. The routing is confined to the steps needed in the refurbishment process. The remanufactured version has its own unique cost and selling price.
During the remanufacturing process, the job consumes some parts and yields other parts that are disassembled. Jobs in DBA allow for multiple inputs and outputs, which make them ideal for remanufacturing.
Specific tips and suggestions for remanufacturing are offered in chapter 6A of the Operating Guide.
