Unlike the traditional ERP sales model, we give you the tools to evaluate the software on your own in exchange for a dramatically lower product price.
At DBA we've been delivering ERP software alternatives to thousands of small manufacturing businesses since 1992.
DBA has three elements that make repair jobs possible: the custom job output generator, job types, and customizable job details.
If you receive products back from customers that need repair, during sales order line item entry you can use the custom job output generator to generate a custom ID that is used as the primary "output" on a repair job. A job is then created by MRP for this custom ID.
Once this job is created, you can add job details as needed. If there is a standard set of replacement parts that get used, you can copy in a phantom assembly. You can also add parts and labor to the job details as needed to complete the repair work. If usable parts are retrieved from the product, they can be entered as job "outputs" that will be put into stock.
Repair jobs can be given their own job type. This way you can segregate repair jobs on reports and inquiries from production jobs.
When the job is completed and the custom ID is picked, shipped, and invoiced, the total job cost stays with the custom ID and flow through to the cost of goods sold on the invoice.
Repair jobs are often done in association with RMA's. DBA has many capabilities when it comes to RMA processing, which are covered in the RMA Processing chapter of the Operating Guide.
